In the lead up to the V&A dinner gala for the Alexander McQueen Savage Beauty exhibition I was intrigued by the nostalgia that surrounded the late McQueen and Isabella Blow at a Private Press view. The exhibition gives a direct insight and retrospective look into his inspirations, work and life.
Swarovski and American Express had partnered with the museum to bring Alexander McQueen Savage Beauty to life including the iconic gemstone encrusted Birds nest Headdress for his Autumn Winter 2006 collection. The crystal house and McQueen share a rich history during the 90’s when Isabella blow introduced the designer to Nadja Swarovski to support McQueen’s infamous Spring Summer 1999 collection.
In a previous interview with Harpers Bazaar in 2011, the muse to Alexander McQueen Annabelle Nielson remembers the designer like watching a creative genius Picasso paint.
