The Yoji Yamamoto Spring Summer 2016 collection was presented at Paris Fashion Week.
Today on the runway we observed clean lines, linear vertical panelling on pieces and tailoring worn over t-shirts.
Dark tones at Yamamoto seemed to resemble the characteristics of film noir with Mob boss hats and flat caps. During the Paris menswear shows the film noir theme was mirrored in other designer’s collections with a low key black and white visual style colour palette. Influences in the collections had roots inspired in Expressionist cinematography.
As a surprise vibrant prints on blazers became present in the form of block colours with artistic impact and minimal face paint tribal details.
