We entered the Cafe Royal Hotel as we made our way up the spiral staircase to a room of decadence that mirrored the ambience of a Dior Advert J’adore I was already loving it in the Pompadour Room.
The biggest surprises of fashion week were clothes you can actually wear. We spied the signature yellow leather safari dress with envy and a bright jumpsuit evoked a Utilitarian trend for spring summer 2016 at the Ong-OAJ PAIRAM SS2016 Catwalk Show. Couture style dresses were the epitome of glamour as they made their way down the runway in shades of fuchsia pink, teal sea blue where floating silhouettes graced our presence, some with layers of organza, silk, taffeta and lace. Embroidery on chiffon dresses adorned with bright coloured butterflies were reminiscent of Alexander McQueen’s first graduate collection at St Martin’s were butterflies on the bodice of a dress.
The jumpsuit biker jacket ensemble combination of teal and cyan was edgy, elegant and classic which could be dressed up or down for any occasion as well as shirt dresses teamed with wide legs trousers. We saw beautifully 70’s inspired printed dresses and exquisite cocktail dresses that were very red carpet chic. Any aspiring Cinderella would want to have Ong Oaj Pairam in their wardrobe. We are looking forward to next season and our expectations of over indulged glamour set the standards very high for critics and the press was well received by fans and applause.
